A fine specimen of the Rice knob made by the Yale & Towne Hardware Company in the 1880s. Note the raised "pavilion top" center and the granular "rice" like relief. The edge of the knob is knurled and barely worn. The back side is also embossed with the same rice pattern. The knob is cast brass and in excellent condition.
